The Wonder of Dubai

Loud, proud, brash, vibrant, and dripping in money – these are just a few ways to describe Dubai perfectly. Of course, the adjectives that people don’t use too often also ring true, such as beautiful, cultural, diverse, and authentic. Dubai is a wonderful place to visit in order to get an overview of Middle Eastern life, but also the power of money. Basically, everyone should visit this powerhouse city at least once.

Dubai is divided into two main parts, and water-taxis link the two; on top of this you have the popular tourist section, called Jumeirah – this is where most of the hotels and attractions are located. All parts of the city have different types of architecture to enjoy, as well as large mosques, old buildings, cobbled streets, and mysterious souks.

We shouldn’t have to mention also that sunshine is certainly very plentiful!

The United Arab Emirates have become a massive tourism hotspot, and when you go to see the attractions in Dubai you can be sure of a packed time, with no boredom in sight. You can enjoy the peace and quiet of the vast desert, or you can head to Downtown Dubai and enjoy the bustling nature of the souks and the large shopping malls, such as the huge Mall of the Emirates, where your credit card will certainly be crying at the end of the day!

There is a false sense that Dubai isn’t for families, but this is certainly wrong. There are many hotels to choose from which have countless facilities for children, as well as nearby attractions, such as Aquaventure Waterpark, Wild Wadi Waterpark, Ski Dubai, Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo, or the ultimate adventure – heading into the desert for a spot of dune bashing. This is an attraction which certainly should be experienced, and will show you the awe of the vast desert surrounding the city, as well as being a fun activity in itself.

Dubai isn’t all about city life, as there are sites of natural beauty right in the heart of the destination, including Jumeirah Beach Park, which is regularly voted one of the best beaches in Dubai itself, or Al Mamzar Beach Park, which has grassy sections for picnics and general outdoor activities.

For culture, you don’t have to go too far – Souk Madinat Jumeirah is in the heart of the tourist section of the city, and is a great place to haggle for souvenirs to take home. Jumeirah Mosque is a must visit, and Dubai Museum will help you learn more about how the city has grown from humble beginnings, into one of the most famous and powerful cities on earth.

We can’t deny that Dubai is dripping in cash, and if you’re looking for a luxury break then this is the ideal choice of destination, with ultra-classy hotels and Michelin star restaurants to choose from. Despite that, there are budget options for accommodation too, meaning you can make Dubai cheaper and better on your bank balance if you so wish.

If you’re looking for a true experience on your next vacation, Dubai should certainly be on your shortlist.
